From there Coach Eric shares his excitement about the upcoming hockey season and introduces the topic of training camps. Coach Andy shares his thoughts from watching OHL camps this year and some of the biggest differences from last year. He outlines some of the common experiences by first year players and parents, and the uncertainty facing new and returning players. He gives advice on how to mentally handle these situations, and the role of patience in your development path as a hockey player. Mapping out common expectations vs reality, he points out the common mistake of being in a rush to succeed and how this can be a huge downfall for young athletes.
